The HARDCORE exhibition revolves around elemental aesthetics, materials that create a world that is more lasting. Exploring a counter digital movement from a design perspective, objects that are a physically heavy and digitally light. Leaning towards a visual language and atmosphere that seems to come from a previous age evokes a feeling of reliability. The objects derive from a new ritualism, one that is about a more tranquil way of living while staying in touch with the physical world.
CORE STUDIO is a young art direction studio, co-founded by Hans van Sinderen, Tijs Gilde, Emma Wessel and Fabian Briels. We felt the urge to visualize our vision on trend and society. This by organizing annual exhibitions. We invited a curated selection of designers, who either created a suitable new project or presented a pre developed project. As CORE studio we worked on the art direction, the graphic and exhibition design and created spatial experiences reflecting our vision.
Both POPCORE in 2016 and HARDCORE in 2017, were well received by the public.
